Webinar October 29th: practical strategies to improve TMR digestibility
Adisseo invites you on Thursday 29th October to a free webinar where you will learn how to make the most of what you have thanks to practical strategies to improve TMR digestibility. This presentation will examine the key factors affecting fiber digestion in the rumen and demonstrate how maximizing the nutritional value of forages can improve animal performance, feed efficiency, and farm profitability. The session will also highlight the latest insights into forage quality, rumen function, and the interactions between fiber characteristics and nutrient availability. Practical strategies for improving forage utilization, optimizing TMR formulation, and reducing feed waste will be discussed. Participants will receive actionable recommendations and on-farm solutions that nutritionists and dairy producers can implement to improve herd efficiency and unlock greater value from forage resources.
Speakers:
- Andrea Formigoni, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, PhD in Animal Reproductive Physiology. Andrea is Professor of Animal Nutrition and Feeding at the University of Bologna and Head of the Research Dairy Unit within the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences. His research activity focuses on dairy cow nutrition, with particular emphasis on feeding strategies, the relationships between nutrition and milk quality, animal health and welfare, fibre digestibility, and forage quality. His current research interests include the optimization of carbohydrate and protein sources in dairy cow diets for milk and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese production. His work also aims to improve production efficiency and environmental sustainability through the use of dynamic nutritional models. As a specialist in dairy nutrition and herd management, he is also a member of the Department’s Certification Committee for Parmigiano Reggiano quality control and serves as an expert consultant to several companies in the dairy sector. His scientific activity is documented by numerous publications in national and international journals (ORCID: 0000-002-8109-2482; Scopus ID: 6602723031) www.unibo.it/sitoweb/andrea.formigoni
Moderated by Laura Barrau Ruminant Innovation & Customer Success Manager, Adisseo. Laura holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from Purpan Engineering School in Toulouse, France, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree from Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, Spain. Her veterinary thesis focused on nutritional approaches to improve calf resilience from birth and reduce antibiotic use in dairy production. Based in France, Laura joined Adisseo's Ruminants team in 2025. In her role, she leads and supports global research initiatives focused on ruminant nutrition and health.
